From my audio documentary featured on Flashpoints March 31, 2009:

Yesterday across occupied Palestine, Palestinians inside the Green Line and in the occupied West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza strip commemorated Land Day, an annual event created to call attention to historical and current-day apartheid and land confiscation of Palestinian land by the Israeli state. This years’ 33rd anniversary day of protest was also combined with the first annual Global Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions Day as a means of attaching historical struggle for land and justice with proactive strategies to counter today’s apartheid policies.
In Deir Hanna in the north, thousands of Palestinians marched and held a rally near an olive grove in this village nestled between rolling green hills and the blue sea of Galilee. Flags of different political factions whipped in the wind, and the inter-generational crowd wore buttons and stickers encouraging boycott, divestment and sanctions against Israel.

With voices of Hazem Jamjoum (BADIL), Maqbool an-Nassar, Raja al-Khattib (Mayor of Deir Hanna), and Jamal Juma’a (Stop the Wall Campaign).
